§4745.1 - EV-Dedicated TOU Meters

  1. Any covenant, restriction, or condition contained in any deed, contract, security instrument, or other instrument affecting the transfer or sale of any interest in a common interest development, and any provision of a governing document, as defined in Section 4150, that either effectively prohibits or unreasonably restricts the installation or use of an EV-dedicated TOU meter or is in conflict with this section is void and unenforceable.

2014 Legislation: AB 2565 - Electric Vehicle Charging Stations for Renters

Subject to certain conditions, AB 2565 would compel a lessor in an association to permit a lessee to install an electric vehicle charging station, provided the lessee agress in writing to various requirements related to costs, insurance, and potential damages. 

Vehicle Charging Stations - New Law

The Governor has signed Senate Bill 209, a law that will void governing document provisions that effectively prohibit or limit the installation of electric vehicle charging stations in homeowner associations.
